A graduate from several schools of Applied Arts, Corentine Baras decided to combine her passions in the Cocktail Editions project. She uses the scarf as a new way of expression for a collection 100% made in France.
Who are you?
A passionate ideaslist.
How did you start in fashion?
Conscious about artistic expression since my childhood, which I used to pratcice in the Beaux-Arts school of my hometown as a hobby, it was obvious that I should continue in this direction. My course in Applied Arts fueled that passion and led me to spread my field of experiments. Specializing in textile, ready-to-wear quickly became to me as preferred field to developp my creativity.
How would you define your style?
Cocktail editions style is not only defined as a fashion brand but more as a creative platform where garment / scarf become supports for graphic experiments. Cocktail Editions feeds through collaborations with various contemporary artists, sculptors, photographers, illustrators ... offering for each collection the discovery of a new universe. My ambition is to create a link between all those universe, introducing a new dialogue between art, fashion and the public, with scarf as the main vector.
What inspires you?
The list is quite long, but I have to admit that painting is what most inspires me, espacially David Hockner, Peter Doig, Twombly ...
A few words about this collection...
True Hymn to Party, Cocktail Party collection invites us more than ever to a sophisticated lightness.
What's your favorite piece in our selection?
